Ingredients

  • 12 Hard taco shells
  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef, chicken, or black beans Seasoned and cooked
  • 1.5 cups Cheese
Toppings
  • 1 cup Fresh salsa
  • 1 cup Guacamole
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • Shredded lettuce

Equipment

  • Oven Safe Baking Dish (9x13 inch recommended)
  • Skillet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375F and position your oven rack in the middle of the oven. If the rack is too high, your tacos could get too browned.
  2. Cook your meat or beans with homemade taco seasoning in a skillet over medium heat. Once cooked, turn off the heat and set the filling aside.
  3. On an oven-safe baking dish, line up 12 to 14 hard taco shells. Stand the taco shells up so they are easier to fill. You can usually fit 14 tacos in one 9x13 inch pan.
  4. Fill the standing taco shells with the cooked meat or bean filling and top with cheese.
  5. Place your taco platter in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
  6. After 10 minutes, the taco shells should be crispy. Remove the platter from the oven.
  7. Begin stuffing your tacos with the remaining ingredients assembly line style: add shredded lettuce, salsa, guacamole, more cheese, and sour cream.
  8. Once you stuff the remaining tacos with the toppings your family likes, take the entire platter to the table using pot holders. Distribute tacos and enjoy your hot tacos together.
