Ingredients
  

For the Dip Layers
  • 1 16 ounce can refried beans
  • 1 1 ounce package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 16 ounce container sour cream
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 16 ounce jar salsa
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 6 ounce can sliced black olives, drained

Method
 

  1. Combine the refried beans and taco seasoning in a medium bowl. Spread this mixture onto a large serving platter to form the first layer.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, mix the sour cream and cream cheese until smooth. Spread this mixture over the refried bean layer.
  3. Spread the salsa evenly over the sour cream and cream cheese layer.
  4. Layer the chopped tomato, chopped bell pepper, chopped green onions, and shredded lettuce over the salsa.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the vegetable layers.
  6. Garnish the top layer with the drained sliced black olives.

Notes

This dip is best served chilled. You can prepare the layers ahead of time, but add the lettuce and cheese just before serving for the best texture.
