- Preheat your oven to 220°C/430°F (200°C fan).
- Snap the woody ends off the asparagus. It will naturally break at the right point.
- Place the asparagus on a baking tray. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Toss to coat, then spread the asparagus in a single layer on the tray.
- Roast for 7 to 12 minutes, depending on thickness, until the ends have a bit of color and the asparagus is just cooked through. Avoid overcooking until it becomes wrinkled.
- Remove the asparagus from the oven.
- If using, toss the asparagus with lemon juice. Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
