Servings: 32 dogs
Course: Appetizer, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Mummy Dogs
  • 32 little smokies
  • 8 ounce crescent roll dough
For Serving
  • 1 container ketchup for eyes and dip
  • 1 container mustard for eyes and dip
  • 1 container ranch dressing for dip

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Sharp knife
  • Pizza cutter

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 13x9-inch baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean, flat work surface. Press any seams together to seal them.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into 1/4-inch strips. Adjust the width of the strips based on how many sausages you have.
  4. Wrap one dough strip around each little smokie, creating a mummy bandage effect. Cross the dough over itself in some areas, leaving a small gap for the mummy's face.
  5. Place each wrapped sausage onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough turns a golden brown color.
  7. Allow the mummy dogs to cool slightly. Add small dots of mustard or ketchup for the eyes, or use edible eyeballs. Serve warm with your favorite dips like ketchup, mustard, or ranch.

Notes

These mummy dogs are best served warm. They are a fun and easy snack for parties and gatherings, especially for Halloween. Ensure you have a variety of dips available for guests to enjoy.
