Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Gallon size Ziploc bag
  • Large Cast Iron Skillet

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of canola oil, garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano.
  2. Place the steak in a gallon size Ziploc bag or large bowl. Add the soy sauce mixture to the steak. Marinate for at least 1 hour, up to 4 hours. Turn the bag occasionally.
  3. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add the steak and the marinade. Cook, stirring often, until the steak browns and the marinade reduces, about 5 to 6 minutes, or until you reach your desired doneness.
  4. Serve the steak in the warmed tortillas. Top with the diced onion, cilantro, and a lime wedge.

Notes

This recipe uses flour tortillas. If you need a gluten-free option, substitute the flour tortillas with corn tortillas, which are naturally gluten-free.
