Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Lasagna
  • 16 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles Use gluten-free noodles if needed for dietary requirements.
  • 1 26 ounce can spaghetti sauce
  • 1 pound cottage cheese
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Blender or electric mixer
  • 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water until they are tender but still firm, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the noodles.
  3. While the noodles cook, combine the tomato sauce and cottage cheese in a blender or use an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Spoon a small amount of the sauce mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place a layer of cooked noodles over the sauce. Sprinkle a portion of the mozzarella, Cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses over the noodles. Repeat the layering process with sauce, noodles, and cheeses, making sure the final layer is cheese.
  5. Bake the lasagna in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

This recipe works well with gluten-free lasagna noodles to accommodate dietary needs. The combination of cheeses provides a rich flavor for a family meal.
