Ingredients

For the Agua Fresca
  • 2 cups cucumber peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 cups watermelon cubed, seeds removed
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 4 cups water cold
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar or to taste

  • 1 mint sprigs

Equipment

  • Blender

  • pitcher

Method

  1. Combine the chopped cucumber, cubed watermelon, lime juice, and 2 cups of cold water in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve set over a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  3. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water and the sugar. Taste and add more sugar if desired.
  4. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice, garnished with lime slices, cucumber slices, and mint sprigs if desired.

Notes

For a less sweet drink, reduce the amount of sugar or omit it entirely. You can also add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
