Method
- Combine the chopped cucumber, cubed watermelon, lime juice, and 2 cups of cold water in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve set over a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water and the sugar. Taste and add more sugar if desired.
- Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice, garnished with lime slices, cucumber slices, and mint sprigs if desired.
Notes
For a less sweet drink, reduce the amount of sugar or omit it entirely. You can also add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
