Main Dish
  • 8 ounces medium shells or ziti
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 24 ounce jar Pasta Sauce
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1.5 tsp. pepper
  • 1 parmesan rind
  • 1/4 cup parmesan or peccorino romano
  • 1 cup mozzarella

Method
 

  1. In a dutch oven, brown the ground beef. Add salt and pepper. Pour in your sauce and add the parmesan rind. Allow this mixture to simmer for 30 minutes, or longer if you have time.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  3. Take your sauce off the heat and stir in the spinach, pasta, and milk. This will create a blush-colored sauce.
  4. Put the lid on and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
  5. Remove the lid and add your mozzarella and romano or parmesan cheese.
  6. Allow the cheese to melt. You can broil it slightly if you want.
  7. Serve the pasta.
