- Add your protein of choice. Cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through.
- In a small cup, mix the beef broth, cornstarch, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture into the skillet.
- Simmer, mixing often, until the meat mixture has reduced slightly, about 3 minutes.
- Lower the heat and add the cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted through, about 4 minutes. Season with black pepper and kosher salt, to taste.
- Serve on toasted brioche buns with your favorite burger toppings.
