Ingredients

Base Liquid (Choose 1)
  • 1 cup Water or Unsweetened Almond Milk For hydration and smooth blending
Fruit (Choose 1-2 for sweetness and nutrients)
  • 1 medium Banana (frozen preferred) For creaminess and potassium
  • 1/2 cup Mixed Berries (frozen) For antioxidants and flavor
Greens (Choose 1 for vitamins)
  • 1 handful Spinach or Kale Kale offers more nutrients; spinach is milder
Protein & Recovery (Choose 1)
  • 1 scoop Protein Powder (Whey or Plant-Based) For muscle repair
  • 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds or Hemp Seeds Adds fiber and Omega-3s
Boosters (Choose 1-2 for specific goals)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder For anti-inflammatory benefits
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger (fresh or ground) For immunity support

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Add the liquid base (water or milk) to your blender first. This helps the blades move freely.
  2. Next, add your greens, such as spinach or kale. Blend briefly until the greens are mostly broken down.
  3. Add the fruit, protein powder, seeds, and any chosen boosters like turmeric or ginger.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
  5. Pour the smoothie into a glass and drink immediately for best results.

Notes

When I first started making these for my son, I learned that using frozen fruit makes the smoothie cold and thick without needing ice, which can water down the flavor. Adjust the liquid amount based on how thick you prefer your final drink.
