- Prepare the cream filling. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until well combined.
- Add the vanilla extract and heavy cream to the cream cheese mixture. Beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble the trifle. In a large glass bowl, create a layer of pound cake cubes at the bottom.
- Spread half of the cream filling over the pound cake layer.
- Add a layer of sliced strawberries over the cream.
- Repeat the layers: pound cake cubes, the remaining cream filling, and then a layer of blueberries.
- Chill the trifle for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
You can use other berries like raspberries or blackberries. For a stronger patriotic theme, you can add a layer of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with red and blue sprinkles.
