- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Season them with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salsa, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour the salsa mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- If desired, top with shredded cheese during the last few minutes of baking. Let the cheese melt.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with cilantro and serve with sour cream or Greek yogurt, if using.
Notes
Serve this salsa chicken with rice, quinoa, or a side salad. You can also shred the cooked chicken and use it in tacos or burritos.
