Method
- Prepare the peppers: Cut off the tops of the bell peppers, remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse them out.
- Make the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Stuff the peppers: Spoon the filling mixture evenly into each prepared bell pepper.
- Cook in the air fryer: Place the stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the meat is cooked through.
- Add cheese: In the last 5 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of each pepper.
- Serve: Carefully remove the stuffed peppers from the air fryer and serve hot.
Notes
You can add other vegetables to the filling, such as corn or diced tomatoes. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
